Navy Marine Corps Relief Society is a private non-profit charitable organization and its main aim is to serve the members of the National Services of The United States, eligible family members and survivors by providing financial, educational and other assistance. Through its scholarships no-interests loans the organization has helped several students who are in financial need. The Joseph A McLinden Divers Scholarship is a need based scholarship for study or research in ocean agriculture. Eligibility Criteria: Must be certified Navy or Marine Corps diver on active duty or retired An unmarried child of an active duty or retired Navy or Marine Corps diver The spouse of a Navy or Marine Corps diver on active duty or retired Must be full time undergraduate or graduate student in a traditional class room setting at a post-secondary, technical or vocational institution in a program of study in Oceanography, Ocean Agriculture or Aquaculture. The school where the applicant is enrolled must be approved to participate in the U.S Department Of Education’s Federal Grant and loan programs Must have advanced diver training, certifications and recertifications.
