The Popular American Poet Amy Lowell died in 1925 and left a will where she stated her Trustees to establish an annual scholarship for talented American poets. Those intended to achieve this scholarship must be willing to spend one year outside North America. The scholarship amount is $ 49,000
The applicant can be of any age and there is no requirement that they should be enrolled in a university or other education program. Though many past winners have been published poets but it isn’t a compulsion that the applicant has previously published their work.
Requirements:
- Must be citizen of United States by birth or born outside US to a US Citizen Parent.
- The poetry sample you send should be not more than 40 typed pages or one printed volume.
- If you are giving the most recent work it should not exceed more that 20 typed pages.
