Teacher Education Scholarship
Every year Starfleet Academy offers monetary help to in the form of scholarship to special active Starfleet members who are attending community colleges, four year colleges, most technical schools, junior colleges and universities or graduate school. The scholarship will be awarded to students studying in different fields: medicine, veterinary medicine, teaching, writing, law enforcement, engineering, acting, dance, music, foreign languages, international studies, business and management. Students from community colleges, technical schools, four-year colleges and graduate schools can apply for this scholarship. Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship is a merit based service obligation scholarship program designed to motivate and encourage the talented students to enter into the profession of teacher. In other words the Kansas Teacher Service Scholarship wants to create a favorable atmosphere to attract more and more students in teaching field. Eligibility Criteria: A resident of Kansas and pursuing bachelor’s degree programs Licensed teachers pursuing endorsement in hard-to-fill disciplines Master’s degree in hard-to-fill disciplines Group planning to teach in an underserved geographic area with a service obligation of one year of service for each year of award The recipients will receive award of $ 5,000 each academic year and that will continue for four years or five years if enrolled in a five-year course of study requiring graduate work. Hard to fill disciplines for 2010-2011 are: Special Education, Mathematics, Science, Foreign Language and English as a Second Language. Underserved geographic areas for the 2010-2011 are: USD 501 Topeka, USD 500 Kansas City, KS; USD 259 Wichita and State Board Of Education Area including all of Western 1/3 of the State Of Kansas. Hardwood Forest Foundation is a non-profit organization who has been involved in various education program and activities taking place in United States & Canada. It is also ahead in supporting students through financial aid they provide. The Hardwood Forest Foundation Educator Scholarship Program helps the future teachers financially to cover the college attending cost. The foundation will award one $ 1,500 scholarship and 14 $ 1000 scholarships to those who has desire to pursue their career as teacher.
