The Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) is a major professional association taking care of over 13,000 appointed and elected state and local government officials and other finance practitioners. It is also ahead in education and training to enhance the skills of those involved in management and making financial policy.
Through its various scholarship program the association intends to promote and encourage students in making their career in state and local government finance. The Daniel B. Goldberg Scholarship funded by Girard Miller Foundation is one such scholarship meant for those who think can make their future bright.
The scholarship will be awarded to that candidate who is currently enrolled in full-time master’s study and preparing for a career in state and local government finance. The scholarship amount is $ 10,000 and is only applicable to those who fulfill all the criteria’s and has not been the past winner of any scholarship program by Government Finance Officers Association.

The application form along with other documents should reach the concerned authority no later than March 5, 2010. The name of the recipient will be announced on April 30, 2010.
