The Hellenic Medical Society of New York has helped Greek-American Community medical students to pursue their studies in medicine.  It is an organization co-founded by renowned physician’s efforts for the betterment of Greek-American Community.

Through the various scholarships and Grants, the organization provides an opportunity to the students who want to aspire as future doctors or who want to pursue their studies and excel in medical fields.

The Leonidas Lantzounis Research Grant of $ 2,500 has been made available by the Hellenic Medical Society of New York will be provided for basic or clinical biomedical research for the summer 2010. The research needs to be conducted under a senior investigator who will provide supervision, equipment and space. Also some specific requirements are to borne by the applicant itself.

The selection of the candidate for research grant will be based on meritorious value of the research project.  The Leonidas  Lantzounis Research Grant 2010  is for those who are:

  • Must be a U.S resident
  • Hellenic Heritage
  • Must be undertaking Bachelors, MD., Masters or Ph.D degrees in biomedical sciences
  • Must be a student of U.S accredited college or university

  • Cover letter requesting consideration
  • A brief summary of  2 pages or outline of your research
  • A biographical sketch or curriculum vitae
  • A letter of support from the senior investigator
