The International Dyslexic Association, Southwest Branch aims in assisting those Dyslexic individuals who are enrolled for a minimum 9 hours with a certified post secondary career-technical program. SWIDA offers 1,000 annually to those who are currently enrolled in certified program.
To qualify for this Scholarship students should be diagnosed with specific learning disability affecting their educational performance. All the required materials by 15 March 2010. The scholarship will be awarded to the recipients by June 15 2010.
For Both the SWIDA scholarships you have to attach following credentials for assessment
- Scholarship Application
- Letter Of Intent
- Current Transcript
- Two Letters of Recommendation from staff or faculty members or learning disability specialists
- Copy of a current diagnostic evaluation mentioning the specific learning disability of the student through (1) a recognized standardized intelligence test (WAIS-IV, WISC 1v or Stanford Binet-Fourth Edition (2) details of the achievement test, (3) Some measures of processing.
- The Financial need statement with the mention of Expected Family Contribution(EFC) as mentioned in FAFSA.
