SWIDA College Scholarship for Dyslexic Students
There are ample grants and scholarships available for the Dyslexic which can definitely make the future of any Dyslexic students. There is no dearth of Scholarships for them and it is right time to take advantage of such opportunities. To get such financial aid the Dyslexic students have to compete by submitting essays or a documented record of achievement.
SWIDA College Scholarship
The International Dyslexia Association Southwest Branch gives this scholarship to those with specific language learning disability affecting their educational performance. Those graduate and undergraduate students who have been diagnosed with specific learning disability or Dyslexia are eligible for this $ 2, 000 Scholarship.
The eligibility criteria for applying for this scholarship are the students should be permanent residence of New Mexico or El Paso, also he/she must be currently a student of 2 year of 4 year post secondary accredited institution.
Those willing to acquire this scholarship need to submit all the required materials by 15 March. The name of the scholarship recipient will be announced by May 15, 2010 and will be awarded to the recipients by August 15 2010.
The Application should be complete with following attachments:
- Scholarship Application
- Letter Of Intent
- Current College Transcript
- Two Letters of Recommendation from staff or faculty members or learning disability specialists
- Copy of a current diagnostic evaluation mentioning the specific learning disability of the student through (1) a recognized standardized intelligence test (WAIS-IV, WISC 1v or Stanford Binet-Fourth Edition (2) details of the achievement test, (3) Some measures of processing.
- The Financial need statement with the mention of Expected Family Contribution (EFC) as mentioned in FAFSA.
