The National Black Nurses Association Inc. is a nonprofit organization which is active since 1972 and has helped 150,000 African American Eastern Caribbean and African students to realize their dreams till date. The organization provides annual scholarships for students. NBNA offers around 14 scholarship programs for students who are heading towards pursuing their career as Nurse or other health professionals: •    Dr. Lauranne Sams Scholarship •    Mayo Foundations Scholarship •    Pepsi Co Scholarship •    Gannett Healthcare Group Scholarship •    NBNA Board of Directors Scholarship •    Kaiser Permanente Scholarship •    Martha R. Dudley LVN/LPN Scholarship •    Nursing Spectrum Scholarship •    Dr. Hilda Richards Scholarship •    The Cynthia J. Hickman “Pay It Forward” Nursing Scholarship •    Rita E. Miller Scholarship •    Martha A. Dawson Genesis Scholarship •    Le Grande Trottman Scholarship •    Margaret Pemberton Scholarship To apply for these scholarships the student must be currently enrolled in nursing program, member of NBNA and one full year of school remaining.  The students need to submit official transcript, written essay and letters of recommendations.
