Alvin Cox Memorial Scholarship is given in the memory of Alvin J. Cox who throughout his life worked in finding financial assistance for those who were unable to afford college tuition. Through the Alvin Cox Memorial Scholarship his family members have kept his mission alive. The scholarship is meant for college students who are in need to funds for their education. For the year 2010, 15 individual scholarships will be issued each worth $ 700. For the candidates to be eligible they must be enrolled or have been accepted to enroll in college during summer or fall semesters of 2010. Even the high school students enrolled in dual credit courses can also apply. The best part is there are no parameters decided for eligibility, any student can apply irrespective of their financial status, race or nationality. No application document is used, the candidate needs to put his name, e-mail address, academic year and essay (2 pages on “your reason for deciding to attend college”) and send it to scholarship@alvincoxmemorial.com on or before May 31, 2010.

Pink Rose Breast Cancer Scholarship is for those children who have lost their parent or legal guardian due to breast cancer. Dale E. Fridell Memorial Scholarship was created in the memory of Dale E. Fridell grandfather of Josh Barsch, the CEO of Straightforward Media. Dale E. Fridell was a person who never said no, when it came to help someone throughout his life. The scholarship is a form of legacy which his children and grandchildren want to continue by his name. Applicants must be currently attending a university, college, trade school, technical institute, vocational training or other post secondary education which makes them eligible to apply or this scholarship for 2009-2010 academic. The scholarship amount is $ 10,000 each and is awarded four times annually. The scholarship is granted after every three months. You need to submit an essay mentioning in not more than 1,000 words as to why you deserve this award, through e-mail only. The essay along with the completely filled application must reach the concerned authority no later than April 14, 2010.
