The National Business Aviation Association is a well known organization and has been a reliable source which has helped many companies for their successful growth in aviation industry. The scholarship is named after Janice Barden to honor her for her active participation in aviation community for decades. She also served as chair of the NBAA Annual Meeting & Convention Local Committee.

The UAA Janice K Barden Aviation Scholarship is meant for the citizens who fulfill the eligibility criteria. The scholarship is for all US citizens irrespective of their sex, race, religion or national origin. The UAA Janice K Barden Aviation Scholarship is one of the several scholarships offered by NBAA to promote professional development and business aviation careers.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be an undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior officially enrolled in an aviation related two year-four year or post graduate degree program at an NBAA & University Aviation Association (UAA) member institution (membership numbers are must)
  • Must have cumulative undergraduate grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale

Five undergraduates will be awarded this scholarship of $1,000 each, studying aviation-related curricula. The application must be filled completely and following things should be included with it:

  • 250 words essay describing your interests in and goals for a career in the business in aviation industry
  • Current transcript from your college or university, transfer student must submit previous college transcript
  • Current one page resume with permanent home address
  • Letter of recommendation (from the member of the aviation industry institution, you are currently enrolled)

The complete application package must reach the concerned authority on the following address no later than November 1, 2010
