California State University, Monterey Bay provides an exceptional education at an affordable price. We're a small, residential campus with an engaged faculty. Students receive individual attention, plus the many opportunities of a comprehensive university. We're one of the 23 campuses that make up the California State University system. Like the other CSUs, our name comes from our location. Our 1,387-acre campus is one mile from the shores of Monterey Bay, between the Salinas Valley and Monterey Peninsula. We serve students from the entire state of California, but 31 percent of our undergraduate students come from Monterey, San Benito and Santa Cruz counties. We pride ourselves on making higher education accessible to traditionally underserved (38%) and low-income (33%) populations.
