Simpson University is a private, liberal arts college located on a 92-cre (37 ha) campus in Redding, California.The college was founded as the Simpson Bible Institute in Seattle in 1921 and named for Dr. Albert B. Simpson, a 19th century Christian evangelist and founder of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. In 1955, the college was moved to Silver Avenue in San Francisco and renamed Simpson Bible College. In 1968, the college was granted regional accreditation by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In 1971, the Bible college curriculum was joined with a liberal arts platform and the institution was renamed Simpson College. The school was relocated to its current campus in Redding in 1989.
