Adams State University "Great Stories Begin Here" is not simply a slogan at Adams State University. Student success is the result of our caring campus culture. Our highly qualified faculty focus on teaching and excellence within their disciplines. Founded in 1921 as a teachers' college, Adams State is now a university offering 16 undergraduate majors with 28 minors and emphases, as well as 8 master's degree programs – most offered online. New academic programs are developed to address student and societal need. Adams State was Colorado's first higher education institution to be federally designated a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI). Since 2000, the university has been awarded a total of $14.1 million in Title V grants designed to strengthen HSIs. Two five-year grants totaling $6.1 million are currently underway.
