Queensland Institute for Aviation Engineering Pty Ltd (QIAE) was first established at the Caloundra Airport in April 2000. The directors and shareholders of this private company are drawn from within the Australian Aviation Industry. This enables QIAE to provide training that is relevant and timely by utilising trade related experiences and real time scenarios. QIAE is a Supervising Registered Training Organisation (SRTO) registered in Australia to deliver Aeroskills trade training. QIAE specialises in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) and Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (LAME) subjects.
QIAE’s capabilities includes training for the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) LAME licencing modules and aircraft type specific services as required by the Aviation Industry and is endorsed as a CASA examination centre with approved invigilators.
Queensland Institute For Aviation Engineering offers following Courses.

Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME):
Queensland Institute For Aviation Engineering (QIAE) offer Licenced Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (LAME) subjects throughout the training year. This presents an opportunity for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) & LAME’s to “top up” their licence endorsements to remain competitive for employment, lift their skill levels and to increase remuneration and recognition opportunities for the higher qualification.

School Based Training:
By means of undertaking a Certificate II in Aeroskills school based traineeship at QIAE, you may, upon the completion of your year twelve studies, obtain a Nationally Recognised Qualification in addition to your senior certificate! What’s more, you will be paid for the time that you devote to working with your employer.

Institutional Pathways:
The institutional pathway program offered by QIAE enables its students to first complete the theory component of their training in one year as a full-time student before commencing their apprenticeship with an employer as a second-year apprentice.

An apprenticeship enables you to undertake the necessary training associated with obtaining your qualification (a Certificate IV in Aeroskills), whilst working for a trusted employer within the Aviation Maintenance Industry.

Type Training:
Queensland Institute for Aviation Engineering (QIAE) holds CAR 30 Approval as a Maintenance Training Organisation (MTO) status from the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

QIAE is ideally located on the Sunshine Coast, a region renowned for its perfect subtropical climate, a climate, which better enables QIAE’s resident students to enjoy the pristine beaches, picturesque waterways and spectacular national parks the Coast has to offer.
