This scholarship awarded to students with financial need who have the desire for an education or to continue their education within any campus of the University of Hawai’i System. The fund is intended to assist students who desire to give back to their community through their career with preference to neighbor island students where there is significant shortage of health care needs. Funds shall be used for costs associated with attendance (tuition, fees, books and supplies). Funds may be used toward distance learning and/or outreach programs. |

Preference shall be given to students in the following order:- Students residing from a neighbor island (not Oahu), or who have graduated from a neighbor island high school. Students pursuing studies in healthcare or health related field. Short essay (no more than one page) explaining how the student intends to impact the health of their community regardless of their area of study. Students with intent to return to a neighbor island to pursue a career shall be given preference. |
