    Applicants must be residents of Maryland or the District of Columbia for at least one year preceding the date of application; be pursuing a career in business or education at an accredited institution of higher education within Maryland or the District of Columbia; be accepted for admission as a full-time student; demonstrate financial need; and have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0. Awards are based on scholastic achievement, financial need, SAT or ACT scores, and the quality of extracurricular activities.

    Submit completed application; copy of most current high school or college transcript; copies of parents’ and applicant’s current income tax returns; copy of acceptance letter from an accredited institution of higher education in Maryland or the District of Columbia; a 500-word typed essay, written by the applicant explaining why he/she is uniquely qualified to receive this scholarship and including academic achievements and activities, community and civic activities, and personal aims and goals; and a copy of SAT or ACT test results.
