Eligibility Criteria The scholarships will be administered by the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid as follows:(a.) The fund shall initially be used to support a single award, made in alternating years first to a student in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering on the recommendation of the chair of the school, and then to a student in the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering on the recommendation of the chair of that school, beginning in the 2004-2005 academic year to a student in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. (b.) The annual award may, in the discretion of the awarding school chair be applied in full to a scholarship for the current year, or applied 50% to a scholarship for the current year and the balance to renew the scholarship for a second academic year provided that the recipient has met the standards of acceptable academic performance. If for any reason the scholarship is not renewed, the awarding school chair shall select an alternative recipient. (c.) The scholarship recipient shall be selected on the basis of merit and academic achievement. Financial need may be considered but shall not be determinative (d.) If in the future the amount of the annual distribution from the fund becomes sufficient to cover the full tuition and fees of two students, then a second award shall be established and the awards made concurrently to a student in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering and Polymer, Textile and Fabric Engineering, each on the recommendation of the chair of the respective school as described above. As and if the amount of the annual distribution from the fund becomes sufficient to cover the full tuition and fees of additional students, additional awards may be established, first in the School of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, the in the School of Polymer, Textile and Fiber Engineering, and alternating thereafter.
