A minimum overall GPA of 3.0 supported by a current official transcript, intent to pursue a degree in Journalism or Strategic Communication and a career in these or a related communication industry. Also requires a 10-hour per week work assignment with the staff of the University newspaper, Kalamalama, as journalists or advertising sales assistants. |

The Hawai’i Pacific University (HPU) Kalamalama Journalism Scholarship offers students an opportunity to prepare for community and industry leadership who pursue a degree major in the Communication Program. This tuition-waiver scholarship is being offered to entering high school graduates and new transfer students that want to be an active participant with the University newspaper. Scholarships are awarded for the fall and spring semesters and may be renewed for three (3) additional years. The scholarship amount is up to $6,000 per academic year. |
