Must be a U.S. citizen or registered permanent resident with GPA of 2.5 or better and goal of becoming a print journalism professional. Must have ties to the Mid-Atlantic/Southern region; be a member of a minority group (Asian, Hispanic, African- American, Native American); be a college sophomore enrolled full time (at least 12 credit hours/semester) in a 4-year degree program; and have a personal vehicle for on-the-job transportation. Award based on grades, work samples, financial needs, recommendations, and targeted selection/interview skills. Summer internship between sophomore and junior years and junior and senior years. At the end of each summer, scholarship awarded. On graduation, eligible for a 1-year internship with full benefits and the possibility of continued employment.
