| Eligibility Criteria |
Applicant are graduating high school senior planning to attend UCM. Student must be a high school senior student attending a high school located in Johnson County, MO, Sedalia, MO Kansas City, MO or Kansas City, KS, be accepted to the University of Central Missouri, have a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale following the seventh (7th) semester of high school, be a first-generation college student (i.e. parent/guardian never attended college/university), however, if no first-generation college students apply or are deemed eligible, all other applicants shall be considered, demonstrate leadership in multi-cultural clubs and/or community projects, demonstrate financial need. Recipients of the Freedom Scholarship must participate in the UCM mentorship program administered by the Diversity Office. Recipients must maintain full-time status (12 credit hours) at UCM and achieve a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.0 at the end of the first semester in order for the second installment of the scholarship to be applied to his/her UCM account. |
