    Applicant must be an MSPE member; be a U.S. citizen and a resident of Michigan; be in an ABET-accredited engineering program at a Michigan college or university; have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; demonstrate leadership and an interest in the engineering profession through involvement in school and/or outside activities. Preference is given to a student in sanitary engineering, although any civil engineering student may qualify.

    Send completed application; official grade transcript(s); recommendations from at least 2 professors in the applicant’s field of engineering study or appropriate math/ science professor, specifying academic and personal traits and extracurricular activities; proof of acceptance in an ABET-accredited engineering program; information on co-op programs (i.e., information relating to or comprising a program of combined studies in which applicant might be involved); and a typed, 2-page essay of approximately 500 words, discussing applicant’s interest in engineering, specific field of engineering that is being pursued, and occupation applicant proposes to pursue after graduation.
