The Multi Ethnic Resource Center (MERC) Leadership and Service Scholarship was developed to provide financial assistance for new and returning students of color who are committed to strengthening their leadership skills, while assisting the MERC in promoting a variety of cultural and ethnic resources to the Bethany campus and community. |

| Eligibility Criteria |
1. Student of color: (Hispanic, African American, Asian, American Indian, etc.)
2. Admittance into Bethany Lutheran College as a full-time or part-time student
3. Remain in good academic standing according to Bethany requirements
4. Be an active participant of the MERC Student Planning Committee, MERC Executive Committee,
MERC Volunteer Group, or MERC Resource Library
5. Regular attendance at the MERC meetings (approximately two times per month) |

Students of color who have been admitted into Bethany Lutheran College may apply. Included with this application form must be: two letters of recommendation (from a teacher, coach, counselor, or employer), and a 200-word essay explaining the importance of being able to provide cultural and ethnic resources to the campus community.The Multi Ethnic Resource Center’s mission is to provide resources and educational opportunities, which promote an understanding and appreciation for the rich cultural heritage and ethnic history of individuals on campus, as well as the community. |
