2. Local Agencies - Many civic organizations
give away college scholarships but they are not advertised
very well. Many groups only receive a few applications
per year, so your chances of getting an award are
much greater than scholarships listed in guides.
Search online and/or use your telephone book to find
college scholarships offered by groups in your city
or county, both the city where you go to college and
your hometown:
- Chamber of Commerce
- Kiwanis
- Lions Club
- Optimist
- Business & Professional Women
- Junior Leauge
- Girls & Boys Club
- Retail Stores
3. College Scholarship Office - Visit your
school's scholarship or financial office to get information
about school sponsored scholarships. Many colleges
also post this information online, but the office
may know of unadvertised opportunities.
4. Scholarship

another great scholarship database that you can search.
It was rated by Forbes.com as the best scholarship
search engine in their "Best of the Web" Review.
5. Scholarship Guide Books - Printed guide
books are the traditional way to find college scholarships.
You can find guide books at your local library, college
scholarship office, high school counselor, or online.
