Science Scholarships
Listed below are some of the top scholarships available in their respective science fields.
- Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship : This is a scholarship facility for the full-time sophomores or juniors pursuing a career in computer science, mathematics or engineering who are in the upper fourth of their class. The scholarship amount depends on the estimations made by the campus financial aid officer. Under this scholarship program, it is extremely necessary for the students to refrain from any full or part time job that may interfere with their academics.
- FBI Common Knowledge Scholarships : Entering freshmen or transfer students desirous of pursuing this field of study full time, are eligible for this $1,000 scholarship. Minimal qualifications include an SAT composite of at least 1000 and a GPA of 3.0 or higher. For the international students, it is necessary to submit a minimal TOEFL score of 525.
- National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship Program : This is supposedly one of the best scholarships available for the science students since, it not only provides the students with an ultimate three years of financial aid, but also an attractive annual stipend of $30,000 along with a $10,500 cost-of-education allowance. Students who can be eligible for this scholarship include, research-based graduates studying Chemistry, Mathematical Science, Physics, Psychology, Social Sciences and other related science subjects.
- National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate Fellowship Program (NDSEG) : This is an extremely prestigious scholarship for graduate students in science/engineering programs, co-sponsored by the Army Research Office, Office of Naval Research, Air Force Office of Scientific Research and the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program. Under this three year fellowship program, the stipend amount varies for different years as, $30,500 for first year, $31,000 for second year and $31,500 for third year. Apart from the tuition fees, a health insurance allowance is also provided to the students.
