Though not a very big state, Vermont does have a high percentage of students aspiring to receive higher education. But, not all of these students have a financial stability to provide for all their college expences. In order to help such students to adjust their college expences into their tight budgets, Vermont has provision for various grant and scholarship facilities.
Some of the most important grants and scholarships offered by the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation are:
- Vermont Incentive Grants: This is a need based grant for students enrolling for a full time study program in either an in-state or out-of-state college or university. Depending upon the need, the grant amount may vary from $500 to $10,000.
- Vermont Part-Time Grants: This is a very beneficial grant for students who cannot afford to attend a full time course due to some reason and are in dire need of financial assistance.
- Vermont Non-Degree Grants: Students who are not pursuing a degree but wish to enroll for a vocational or technical course instead, are eligible for this $1600 per academic year grant.
Apart from these important grants, there are some other grants also, which are awarded depending upon various conditions like, field or career being pursued, geographical location or financial background.
